Advanced Members SethTI Posted November 13, 2018 Advanced Members Share Posted November 13, 2018 I've got a few questions, How long will this take to finish? Will it be HTML5 only? How much is the ESTIMATED cost?
Contributors Popular Post Maverick Posted November 13, 2018 Contributors Popular Post Share Posted November 13, 2018 (edited) So the bot works like this (Current APPBOT host are TOM2, Paul and Maverick): Commands: !cardmatch [invite/add] [username/id] - Will add a user to the current participants !cardmatch [uninvite/remove] [username/id] - Will remove a user from the current participants !cardmatch list - Will list current participants !cardmatch end - Will end the current competition !cardmatch start - Will start the competition Examples: !cardmatch invite Maverick !cardmatch invite 42 !cardmatch remove Maverick !cardmatch uninvite 1070 The game will only accept an even amount of players to participate: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 etc.. Cardmatch works with pairs of players competing against each other. Every competition needs at least 2 players, but would recommend only up to 8-12 participants. Basically how the game competitions work is that 2 players are randomly selected from the total participants to compete with one another in a round, the winner of the given round will move on in the competition, while the loser drops out. The goal of the game is to match as many pairs as possible, whoever matches the most pairs in a given round wins. Whoever stays in the competition the longest without losing a round, wins the competition. Note: Sprites will fail on first load, this is a problem related to how sprites are loaded in the canvas app, will be fixed in the future. Advanced Members LaFleur Posted November 13, 2018 Advanced Members Share Posted November 13, 2018 Some suggestions perhaps. Across chats: Ideally games should be available all across the chats with an approval system. List all apps: Each available and approved custom app should be listed in the (canvas) app. Storage: Games should allow you to save progresses , e.g. a single or multiplayer game that is started today, can be continued any other day. Multiplayer across chats: Another idea could be to allow making multiplayer games that are playable across chats, e.g. a game like SIMS which I play at xat5 with a user from Chat and Help. The idea overall is interesting, allowing users to make their own public apps, but it may not be overly used until flash is replaced entirely, as not many users use the html5 chat. On the other side, this should be giving enough time to develop apps. One downside of this system might be the dependence on users developing (proper) apps, if they do not - then it may not work out at all. However, I think there are a couple of motivated developers who'd like to work on apps/games, so let's look forward on that. P.S. Once the system is advanced, there may even be a place on the forum for people to suggest apps/games, possibly a sub-forum.

We are working on a more advanced appbot system which already has some of your suggestions implemented. Just need @Admin and his take on it. How much is the ESTIMATED cost? Depends what you mean by finished. Maybe 2 weeks to open up to all to make apps. HTML5 only or now but there should probably be a flash version. (the apps will always be HTML5) Not decided, maybe 1000 xats. 1 hour ago, Stif said: These projects will be able to use in just one chat or will we be able to post them for use in other chats? Entirely up to you. You can host one (or maybe a few) chats using your PC. To cover all of xat you might need servers.

That could be done. The current idea is lots of simple games and apps. Plenty of variety rather than blockbuster games. But really we do not know. We want to see where it goes. We are hoping a lot of people will be able to make simple apps and run them on their chat. Example you could download a quiz app and change the questions. You would not need programming skills for that, just be able to follow some simple instructions.

Since most of the chats have already a bot (FEXBots, Ocean etc..), wouldn't it be cool to update bot power to allow more than one bot in one chat? (Instead of killing the current one) Like 23232323;123456789 (Allowed IDS that will have the bot pawn.) So you have a bot to moderate the chat and one to play the games. I think that idea was suggested from someone..
Advanced Members Daniel Posted November 13, 2018 Advanced Members Share Posted November 13, 2018 (edited) How exactly would this work, the OP seems to lack any information except the advertisement of Mavericks game? Maverick's game doesn't seem to fit with what the original post says either, will users be able to create their own games? Or just Maverick? I assume you won't be allowing people to run arbitrary code...? 2 hours ago, Admin said: Games Quizzes Chat rules, stats etc Mod of the month Custom Polls Seems like it's just a side-app that allows you to put text on it, users can already do that below the chat? Bot Service Providers Nezhit Posted November 14, 2018 Bot Service Providers Share Posted November 14, 2018 I liked it, played a bit on xat_test with Mavegirl @Maverick It seems interesting since you can do your own stuff, I have some feedback, like: Packet documentation (if needed) Some examples like games, rules, quizzes etc to download and edit easily Now allowing only bot providers to handle all (release an open source) like botstat wouldn't be cool, we also need to work on it I will be happy in doing some examples later and posting them here. Advanced Members Samuel Posted November 14, 2018 Advanced Members Share Posted November 14, 2018 Would be possible to create a system with Appbot for users who have a "business" in xat? E.g: A user sells a flash player and to charge it, the buyer must send xats to APPBOT instead of sending them to seller, the bot could give the approval that xats are legal and if they are, send them to seller. In this way, the seller would make sure that his payment won't be removed by E55.
