Yeah ... most are jerks and sell too high. I feel if they sell to high they should at least be punished .. 58 minutes ago, Flake said: Agreed... people shouldn't be punished if they sell for stupidly high amounts or buy for stupidly low amounts. They will eventually give up because, obviously, they will not be able to sell/buy the power - if they continue and are obviously trolling, they should be kicked/banned. However, the issue arises when people sell for too cheap or buy for too much. This is the main reason why the guide has been put in place - to stop these instances from occurring where people have a large lack of knowledge of the true price at the current time. This is why it is bad when prices fluctuate - people may buy for far too much or sell for far too low than the current price at the time, and this is especially an issue considering people who update fairtrade don't update when the price has fluctuated - they wait until the price is consistent. This is the main usefulness of the guide, to stop this from occurring. If you think about it this way, the only possible solution to this is to enforce the guide more. However, I rarely actually see anyone buying for far too high or selling for far too low - a large majority of trade informs themselves of the current price before selling/buying. For this reason, it doesn't really need to be enforced more. I agree as well that people need to be punished if having too high of a price
Advanced Members Christina Posted April 14, 2016 Advanced Members Share Posted April 14, 2016 I think this topic is getting a bit funny....... If people are selling 50k over market value..they are clearly trolling. It happens alot. It is also false trading. Its up to Maverick to enforce how he wishes to handle it. Problem is.......what is false trade and what isn't? What is trolling and what isn't? Good luck! We can all wish for an Utopia but it does not mean you are going to get it.

Yes, selling for something absurdly over the true price is obviously trolling and they should be kicked/banned... I did state that in my post. Trolling is "SELL PURPLE FOR 80K ROFL!!!!!", misunderstanding is "Sell sins 2,500 xats". Also, if staff members were to warn the person that their price is too high, usually the person will continue if they are trolling. And if they continue and aren't trolling and being annoying about it and disrupting the chat anyway, what does it matter? They'd stop eventually. Point is, false trading via selling absurdly high is usually ALWAYS obvious, and even if it isn't obvious, so long as it doesn't disrupt the chat, I don't see why it matters. People should not be punished for selling a reasonably large amount over the "true price" if they are not disrupting the chat - only when it is obvious trolling they should be punished.

I did state that in my post. Actually based on my experience and as a trade mode, whenever i see a users who sells for insane high price that even over a fairtrade's price guide i give verbal warnings and kick and even pc the user for warnings and ban if doing it continuously and also we report users to owners. So if you see users who are continuously doing it please report it to owners directly. Like with the winner power, currently users are abusing it and selling for like 4-5k xats that was insane high and we do not tolerate it.

Maverick should already know..there have been forum posts about it as well. If there is market for it then little they can do but inform the traders, set a scroll, have mods correct the situation on main, post on site, and educate the users. Honestly though..you have a point. Maverick as main, should be replying to these sort of threads In My opinion, to let the public know how he is handling these situations. Sorry to put you on the spot Mav....but I think it would help.

We're doing best we can. The hard part is even a couple of times of verbal warning + pc to explain users still doesn't listen and even being sarcastic, some even reply to you ''What? it's limited and we can sell whatever we want it to'' despite of warning and reminders. Contributors Popular Post Maverick Posted April 15, 2016 Contributors Popular Post Share Posted April 15, 2016 In my honest opinion, I agree with a couple users opinion here and they were put into place. Thank you for that. However, I wasn't going to reply to this thread since I already told the user who opened this thread multiple times on xat_Test and Trade about fairtrade's gude, so has the the owners and moderators on those two chats. I have been reading this thread back and forth and the results were the same, fairtrade is a guide not a rule. So I don't think I am going to enforce it as a rule so everyone can follow a guide that was meant to help / guide everyone. Users have their method of selling their powers which lands in the fairtrade's price range. Which is another reason why I didn't enforce fairtrade to be a rule other than a guide to guide users in case they ever need help. I was looking at the poll result and 55% of everyone said no, because they already know its a guide and not a rule. That's pretty much common sense. Many users know how fairtrade works, and they use the command !price power, get their results and then proceeds to sell their powers. Sometimes they sell for a bit more, but again it is about making profit most of the time. As for the Winner power, that is something admins would need to fix ASAP so users don't abuse the price. However no one knew this was going to happen to that power, but some users found out and thought it would be funny to get a reaction out of some users on Trade. That quickly came to an end. Trade is about making profit and trying to get the most out of a power, but it also requires time and effort which not many people put in. So some users just sell their powers for whatever price to get out of trade quickly which is why some users argue about it. They don't follow what users sell by or follow fairtrade and want to make their own price, then complain about it. I have put a stop to that quickly. (May happen here and there, but I can't really moderate everyone. This is why moderators were made.) If you feel like you're getting ripped off, then you should ask some of the moderators on Trade for help or follow fairtrade's guide. Maybe you'll get better results that way; as in tons of private chats. Pro-tip: Don't go selling a power that is at peek at its price. Meaning; selling Gold at 56,999 when it's around 56,500 (maybe), or even Blueman for 985 when users are really buying it for 960 or 955. Doesn't make sense on why anyone would do that in the first place, but again it is for profit so maybe that's why. I have selected a handful of users so they can update fairtrade weekly and they are doing a good job with that. Remember, new powers are released weekly, so they have to take time to see which powers are down and check if last weeks power is down, work as a team to figure out a decent price and then add it in fairtrade. If I were to force those users to update fairtrade everyday, they would just quit on me and I don't want that. They have lives like you and I, school, work or even in different time zones. So I am not going to pressure them into doing fairtrade when they can do it every week. I will look into the Winner power more for those who really want it fixed, but there's no guarantee that admins will fix it ASAP. It may take a while to be fixed. I hope you understand the main concept of fairtrade and hope you understand what other users are trying to say as well. Enjoy.
