I don't know if this has been previously suggested but admins can implement an command to add friends by regname eg: /fxat /ftom2 and in the end the id of this "friend" would be added as in the old command.

You can PC a fexbot (commonly found at xat.com/xat_test) and say the command "!ID REGNAME"; for example, "!ID Angelo" . The bot will return an ID that you can quickly copy/paste, where you can use the command /fIDHERE

If the bot is down, you can use the following link to find IDs via registered usernames: http://xat.me/n?name=infinity

Replace "infinity" with the registered username of your choosing.

Your idea isn't bad by any measure, I just do not think it's needed, and would not be a priority for xat to develop.

I'd prefer to add someone using their regname instead of using their ID. I like your idea, mainly because you tend to recognize a regname more than an ID, for obvious reasons. But the usage of adding someone using their regname should NOT be a replacement for adding someone using an ID. In fact, both should be included.
