Hello,

If the volunteers tell you that 80 payments of $5 were backcharged, this means one of three things:

  • You reversed 80 payments of $5
  • You bought 80 payments of $5 (or something equivalent) with false credit and ended up receiving the xats, only for the payments to be reversed some time later
  • Paymentwall has made a mistake.

If the first or second bullet point(s) occured, then you have two options. You can either pay back the $400 (in which you will have no chargeback fees), or you may decline to pay and create a new account.

If the third bullet point might've occured,  I would suggest contacting Paymentwall and asking them if they can help you resolve this issue. They may be able to provide some insight as to what happened, and provide transaction logs that either confirm or deny that $400 was reversed on your end.

You can find contact information for paymentwall here: https://www.paymentwall.com/en/contacts and https://www.paymentwall.com/ar/contacts

You can also attempt to prove your innocence by supplying all transaction logs to xat that you may have. If you bought xats with your phone, you might contact your mobile provider and ask them for any transaction logs. The more information that xat has from you, the more that they'll be able to work with you.

I wish you luck!

You might want to contact Paymentwall and ask them the difference between "Initiated" and "Collected"; this might be the root of your problems.

I believe that I have gotten my point across to you: all disputes regarding you and your account and the funds that you may or may not need to pay back must be handled in xat's support system. I cannot assist you further here on the forum. I highly encourage you to get in contact with a volunteer to talk with them and see what your best course of action is.

Hence, I am going to be locking this thread. I will mark an appropriate answer.
