xat promo rule unclear

Recommended Posts

http://prntscr.com/hwr9h8 Lately I've been told that at least one mod/owner must be present when a chat is promoted, yet it doesn't say anything about bots. I was told that at least 1 HUMAN moderator and/or owner must be present, yet it doesn't say that in the rule! The rule should clarify that chat bots (such as Gamebot, FEXBot, Ocean, etc.) do not count as a moderator/owner being present in the chat, or that it should state that at least 1 regular user who is a moderator/owner must be present during chat promos.

At least one owner or moderator must be visible at all times.

A bot shouldn't be considered as a member of staff because a bot can't moderate the chat like a regular staff member should, especially for situations related to drama/trolling.

The rule is fine as it is and it doesn't need to be changed.

@CarlosDesigns, by active, I believe he means active in chat when online (ie. not away at other chats or AFK) and not activity in general which is just spending a lot of time there when possible.

Even with that POV, it's difficult to stay moderating a chat when it's dead for the majority of the day. The one time moderation is done efficiently is when it's done in an active chat. There's no point of moderating a dead chat.

True.

And visible.

And active.

FEXBots can moderate the chat as much as a person could.

FEXBot can ban users for inappropriate language, flooding the chat, and illegal things said in the chat.

Sometimes a bot isn't enough. People always find a way to bypass the filter and not get banned. This is why a promotion requires active mods/owners to moderate the chat.

If you know how to setup a bot it's easy to moderate a room,

To be honest bots is better than staff members, mods etc. Because them can moderate everyday if all is setup ok.

I see room without bots and lot of people trolling (WITH STAFF ONLINE), what if a bot is there? yay banned them.

So, dont say them are useless, cuz theres staff worse than bots. (80% are unfair or useless)

And well, the rules doesnt say if it's allowed or not, so just need a moderator or higher, nothing else. If supposedly was it to moderators or bots this rule, the admins didn't clarify so don't care about this rule and it's ok.
