Add new Background.

Recommended Posts

I agree, although on the one hand, users choose to place a personalized background.

But this is good, for people who have a chat on their web page or blog.
Or for anyone who is lazy and does not want to make a fund or pay for it.

I like this suggestion, it would be nice to have funds with the xat logo something personal and striking so the user has a better interaction with xat

Created that yes some designer within the team or contributor to Xat.com can offer them would be excellent I hope xat take this into account to improve and instead of decaying up a step.

Interesting suggestion, but if the backgrounds are changed they should be ORIGINAL, not an image of google and say I did the background. Not anyone can make an image from scratch.
If xat determines change bg's would be a good change as long as maintaining originality, without using google images.

Love the idea!

I agree with ju4n. A contributor or someone can set up something.

Maybe they can have users submit some entries and have Xat approve them.

(not sure if there are legalities involved with using certain images but that would be transcribed if it they were to do it)

This would be good for the community, great suggestion @ANGY !

It could be a nice addition to the html5 chat release - e.g. xat could ask the graphic designers, that are around xat, to create backgrounds that contain the xat logo.

Then pick 5-10 for example and add that set for public use in the editchats. The old images don't need to be removed necessarily.

The idea is good, but anyway the world does not use this image, it always creates their own image to their liking.
Be nice, it's good to change, no one will ever use such images.
I support this idea, because when someone creates a new xat, uses these images until they make their own image.

Some flat backgrounds having the xat logo as Lafleur added, would be very nice. :)

Time for a change, @Admin :$

Maybe the contributors team can try and get something going for this???

That would be a good thing for you guys to push.

Maybe it would be nice to show an example or even a previous of a background which can match the xat theme with differents colors (including xat logo etc..) so they can give them an idea about and probably change the old backgrounds.

We'll try to get something but not sure.

@SlOom

I think this can most definitely wait for html5. it would be nice to see an extensive re-haul to the chat on html5 platform.

(not like my opinion matters anyway :$)

but it would be nice to see a lot of new things, as well as updating old things on the html5 platform, this being one of them.

Things should be getting brought up as they are developing that way they do not have to come back and change it, so they can just do it as they are working along. (again another opinion).

People can try to do some backgrounds and then asking for people (and admins?) opinion.

if the topic has enough backgrounds and if they are nice to people, we can try to get them added at the backgrounds list. (If admins are up to, ofc!)

It's NOT an official decision but people are free to show their super skills and do their best to improve xat design. (cool)

Ah @SlOom

maybe like this?

t1YKoHR.png

Where xat has "default backgrounds" and also "user uploaded backgrounds". And these user uploaded backgrounds would have to be approved by vols, contributors, or whoever is trusted to.

That way you can search through a list of user uploaded backgrounds that are appropriate and fit some sort of regimen. (just like advertising of xat chats on banner).

Backgrounds can be approved on the forum directly and forum is a better place to give an opinion about user background(s) instead of implementing an option on the chat which will be used to exploit or somewhat.

Hmm, That's right!

That "submit for review" button could just be a redirect link to a forum section.

Hopefully Xat can consider doing a system like this.

@SlOom

(it seems now we are clogging up this post (sry) but with good info at least lol)

If it does only a redirection on the forum, why not..

No, they definitely need removing :$. We've had two different actors playing Spider-Man since that background was created.

There could be accusations of favoritism, depending on who is picked. (swt)

I was going to suggest another contest (the top 10-15 entries would be used), but this may not generate much diversity. All of the winners may be similar colours or designs, for example. It's probably better to contact skilled graphic designers (as you suggest) and specify what colours, designs, themes, settings and characters they want for each background in advance.
