Social Account Links

@Techy's, not mine, he was just too lazy to write it himself.

 

As seen below, it allows you to display links to your social accounts on the action dialog and in chat messages.

 

 

You would be able to display a total of 8 (that's how many fit on the 1st ss) homepage, facebook, twitter, youtube, reddit, instagram, etc.

 

Clicking them would do the same as clicking on the home page and open a new tab to media account.

 

Just an easier way to link people to your accounts or show them off besides having them on your xatspace/linking them.

A few years ago had the facebook option I remember like 4 or 5 years ago... (it was removed, idk the reason)

It can be a good thing to show the social links and use multiple links in same time.

 

It would be cool also to add a social link for the xat Forums.

Definitely a cool idea, i can imagine users wanting to show off their social sites.

 

What should be considered: When setting up a social account, the links of the social sites should already been preset, so you can't use another link for that button, e.g.:

https://facebook.com/{username} < you can only enter username

https://www.youtube.com//user/{username}

https://twitter.com/{username}

https://www.instagram.com/{username}

etc.

Hey, I really like the idea, they look really cute the buttons and it would be easier to find us on our social networks, the problem is that there are many buttons to my opinion and I'm used to the classic in xat, but I like the idea and support it if necessary.

One thing to think about is how would you enter the usernames for your social media accounts? How would this be shown in the edit dialogue?

Why not add it to the login page? I feel like if they put it in the edit prompt it would look messy.

I don't like the idea, younger people will post their social media without a second thought. Then realize after the fact that posting real life info can be bad.

@Actavus While I get your point, it's the same as them linking their accounts in chat, this is just a way for them to be displayed without having to do that same thing.

Also, I know what i cross post quoted isn't on the same topic, but I believe the point made with the first 3 sentences is the same.

@Daniel Something like that would probably be the best, other options include listing it under the "more" options on login.

Correct, and for things that allow you to link your accounts (like if you've used discord, you've probably seen the account linking feature),

you could use that to link the accounts instead of inputting the username manually (maybe?) @LaFleur

Isn't needed xat make a new page, cuz when you click on "Share" it will happen in the same way when you click in Twitter's icon bellow of chat, it will automatically ask you to log in using your social account(pop-up).

Awesome idea I 100% support as is. Xat had similar Facebook Integration before and this here would be very cool entirely. (especially for Techrax )
