At the beginning of a new month, someone from the Contributor group will post a topic providing a summary for discussions that were discussed in the Contributor section during the previous month. This is to allow the community to be more informed and have a better understanding of the Contributor group. If you have any concerns or suggestions that you would like to be brought to the attention of the Contributor group, message any of the Contributors.

Extending chat events to 28 days

We concluded our own discussion about potentially extending chat events to 28 days a couple of months ago. The discussion has now been concluded within the Suggestions section too. Poll votes show a preference for extending chat events to 28 days rather than keeping them at 14 days, and for anyone with the Events power to be able to view them all. However, important privacy concerns have also been raised. The results of the discussion have been forwarded to the xat admins but there are no guarantees any changes will be made.

Adding Appbot games to the Apps sidebar on chats

A member of the group proposed that we potentially approve and add some Appbot games to the Apps sidebar on chats. Appbot games are created by Game Makers and up to this time include HitMoles, CardMatch, PingPong, pawns, checkers, bingo and smileymatch. These games currently require the Appbot power to play, and the user is required to follow a series of steps to set them up. The inclusion of some Appbot games to the Apps sidebar could make these games easier to play and bring more fun and entertainment to the chats.

As we reached the end of 2020, a survey was opened for Contributors to provide their feedback about the group, and to see how we can improve for 2021.
