I would like to see/suggest a integrated button where you can change the theme of xat's forums.

-Examples Below-

LIGHT THEME

DARK THEME

Feel free to add on suggestions to this thread.

The only thing stopping this from happening would be finding an IPS plugin that is compatible with the current IPS forum version that xat is using.

I really would like to see a "Dark Mode" implemented though, I use it on any platform that offers it, Reddit, Discord, etc.

I agree, as do I. I find that it's easier on the eyes for me atleast.

I've been working on a dark theme, but it still requires quite a bit of polishing before it can be made public.

I would love to help make images for you to use in the making of this (ok)

It's something I will never understand.
I am sure I have offered this idea in the past and the most populous answer was that: Forum will never change because the blue color symbolizes xat.com.

And now after a few years many of you will agree, or have you seen that this is used more often in many places, or that it was the suggestion from whom you do not expect. (sman)

My answer is the same as years ago, I agree.

I love the idea that the forum has a dark theme, it has a lot of time with the same "white color", and I am sure that the innovative ideas within the forum regarding design and color will be well received, as long as it is not a such a drastic change.

With having this in JS/CSS it will basically be the users choice to make the change if they want to have a darker theme or a lighter one, with a click of a button that user can make the change back and forth any time they want. Which is very useful since it will mean that if people have a hard time with either the darker or lighter versions they can easily change that. Which makes browsing the forums easier on the eyes. I find myself personally straining my eyes to look at these forums since they're so bright.

Including...

Adding dark theme won't change "xat identity" what about YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc...

YouTube (light/sucks)

https://prnt.sc/ro8pl0

YouTube (dark/cool)

https://prnt.sc/ro8pei

Facebook (light/sucks)

https://prnt.sc/ro8p9t

Facebook (dark/cool)

https://prnt.sc/ro8ozy

Those sites didn't lose their "identity" just because added dark/light version, this is innovation!

I think even xat.com (homepage/pages) would have a dark theme, it make the apparence very clean to your eyes.

I myself did it to Mundosmilies ( https://mundosmilies.com )

It seems my reply was never saved, but I definitely agree with what you were saying, there's nothing being lost about the "identity" as all it does it change the theme (the color) from a lighter to a darker one or vice versa. No emblems icons or images would be changing. Just as most other media sites do.

Excellent your idea, it will be very useful to have the option to select the light theme or the dark theme. (applause)

A few suggestions & a bug report:

1# Bug report (or missing/mistake maybe?)

Button does not appear in the status, but it works normal in the comments.

Dark:

Light/Default:

Also just found this one, while adding a "code"

Screenshot_9.thumb.png.072ac35b3bec609742d9f9a07dae50e6.png

Textarea has a white background, and the button has no style.

2# Sugesttions

Change rank images background to "alpha" or any other color which adapt well on both themes.

Change this card shadow to something darker. E.g: #111 or #333

Image names with prefixes dark[1-3]- have their colors inverted on the dark theme with varying intensities. For example an image named dark2-cml.png would produce (using the contributor monthly log logo as an example):
