On the first day of the new month, someone from the Contributor group will post a thread providing a summary for discussions that were discussed in the Contributor section during the previous month. This is to allow the community to be more informed and have a better understanding of the Contributor group.

If you do have any concerns or suggestions that you would like to be brought to the attention of the Contributor group, message any of the Contributors and I'm sure they'd be happy to bring it up for discussion if deemed necessary.

You can find our previous logs here.

Ongoing Discussions

These topics are currently ongoing. If you would like to offer feedback and/or suggestions, feel free to send me a message and I'd be happy to convey it to the rest of the group. You can also post a comment if you would like to offer feedback and/or suggestions.

Flirt Discussion

Spoiler

Not much has transpired within the past month. We are still in the discussion of setting up a bot for the chat to deal with raids

Randomized Reg/ID Forum Giveaways

Spoiler

It's been suggested that forum giveaways could be given their own sub-forum. This would help organize the Contests and Events section, and would allow users to create an activity stream that doesn't involve giveaways and floods of usernames/IDs. This sub-forum may or may not have reactions enabled - it is still being discussed.

It was also suggested that we create a guideline to make giveaways 'more meaningful' - not just asking entrants to post their username/ID. An example of making a giveaway 'more meaningful' may include asking entrants to answer a question. However, this part of the suggestion was widely opposed and will not be considered further

Inactive Chat Groups Warning Ticket

Spoiler

The process for placing a shortname back on sale involves opening a ticket to give the current owner a chance to keep their name. If the current owner does not reply to the ticket within 1 week, the shortname may be put back up for sale, subject to checks. However, the current process for placing a chat group back on sale is not the same. Volunteers will not open a ticket with the current owner of the chat group to give them a chance to keep the group, and they are not given an inactivity warning. If the chat is inactive, subject to xat's official checks, it can simply be released for sale. Contributors are discussing whether to implement the same ticket-opening process for chat groups as shortnames.
