The Private Message feature on HTML5 chats could be upgraded with two new additions:
- The first addition is a feature that would allow us to display and hide a private message whenever we want (see Image 1 and 2). We would just have to click on the lock to display it and click again to hide it. It would be useful to be able to take screenshots of the main chat while keeping our messages private and without having to sign out/in and lose them to hide them. This would be in line with the spirit of the HTML5 version which is smarter and more instinctive.
- The second addition is to be able to see the regname of the user we are sending the message to (see Image 2). Sometimes we send a message, we get distracted, and we're not sure who we're sending it to anymore. It will allow us to make sure it has reached the right recipient.

Credit to @SLOom for suggesting to add an automatic message to the locked lock.
What are your thoughts?

Not xat-related question: if you could spend 1 hour with a personality from any era, who would you spend it with and what would you talk about?
xat-related question: what's the graphic design you've done that you're most proud of?

Nice update!
It will be useful with temp owners when a main owner wants to see how they manage things in their absence and if they are ready to become permanent owners.

Just want to add a little info.
From most users that I have encountered having this issue are usually using aol/yahoo/hotmail email providers which has been an issue receiving emails from xat. So as Angelo said above, they can switch up to gmail account which is recommended to use.
This happens with gmail too.
Changing the browser should solve the problem.

At the beginning of a new month, someone from the Contributor group will post a topic providing a summary for discussions that were discussed in the Contributor section during the previous month. This is to allow the community to be more informed and have a better understanding of the Contributor group. If you have any concerns or suggestions that you would like to be brought to the attention of the Contributor group, message any of the Contributors.
You can see our previous logs here.
GENERAL UPDATE
Due to the summer vacation, which was a typically quiet period, there were few significant discussions worth including this month. However, we are inviting you to provide your thoughtful feedback upon any of our previous chat logs listed here: https://feedback.xat.chat/monthly-contributor-logs/.
ONGOING DISCUSSIONS
SpoilerAfter a few weeks of preparation, the official Feedback chat (approved by Admins) is now ready to set sail on her maiden voyage. The chat is based on an idea by Lemona (220341852) and the discussion was revived in order to gather fresh ideas about improving and promoting the chat. If you have any thoughtful ideas of your own, please post them below.
CONCLUDED
SpoilerA poll was opened in last month's log to decide whether the comment section should be left open for future logs. 22 users voted Yes and 4 users voted No. The comment section is now open, and we look forward to reading your opinions. But please ensure they abide by the forum guidelines.

Sometimes we have to leave things as they are. For me, the default pawn color is one of xat characteristics and shouldnt be changed. If we continue to want to change everything, xat will eventually lose its soul.

I think one of the important reasons is that there isnt a good way to promote xat. Relying on word of mouth and embed in websites is no longer sufficient today. Certainly, some users leave and its quite natural. But what about new users who join? Maybe they should invest a little more on the methods of promotion to make xat better known. We mustnt wait for old people to come back to fix everything, there are alternative methods.

The legs aren't bad, it reminds me Mickey. But shouldn't they be yellow? That would make more sense

Another power of silver? Are not there more thematics for powers? Why do not they pull out a power of function or fix some things that do not work well? instead of repeating the same theme in the powers
Why not repeat some themes? It gives more choices to users. Being innovative is a difficult task and smiley makers do their best to satisfy everyone. If there's no power each week, it may reduce xat benefits and some users may be bored of having to wait a long time for the release of a new power. It's a double-edged sword.

We're very happy to see the interest you all have in this matter! We want to let you know a survey about the HTML5 chat to get your feedback will be available very soon! The information that will be collected will be very useful for the HTML5 team, so save all your opinions to submit them when the survey is available.
Stay tuned!
