https://cubeupload.com (which is now required account) -- WIKI EDITORS NEED TO UPDATE THE XATWIKI "IMAGES"

The Images article has been updated. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! The newest revision will go live for the translated versions of the page as soon as it's marked for translation. For any future requests, please use the edit request form or contact us privately, if you would prefer. Wiki editors do not read every single topic, meaning that there is a high chance that your request will be ignored if your post it in random topics.

I think Admin should at least give his point of opinion in each of the ideas provided by the users. That would lift their spirits to keep doing all the work that is to make MORE good suggestions. It is not too late to change the point of view that users have towards the Admin, a being that only appears a few times a week in a xat and then disappears as if nothing. I'm sure that more than one of the users who have incredible power to create suggestions would be super happy with an "I like the suggestion" from Admin.

You should realize that it takes time to review and respond to suggestions, which they could use to spend on doing things that are considered high priority. If they take time to review and respond to suggestions, they will end up delaying other things (including the development of HTML5 and mobile, and replies on xAdmin ticket department, which already take time.) The coins outweigh the pros, in my opinion, meaning I would rather keep it as is for now.

It will never become harder to browse flash chat. Chrome is smart enough to add settings in their browser to still allow flash as well.

Scenario 1: You would use any xat.com funcionality without having to allow Flash to run.
Scenario 2: You would need to manually whitelist xat.com domains in order for fucntionalities to work (ticket included!)
Scenario 3: You need to allow Flash to run every time you open your browser in order to access a chat.

It does become harder. Although there's always a hidden option, that's not ideal, nor convenient. Users will eventually become tired of these, which is why I said that the HTML5 chat is the future of xat.

Interesting that the "new" design is actually the same old design with a fresh coat of paint. Nothing new. This is what we should have had many years ago, and what we should be seeing now is an actually new design.

You got a point, but as I said, it's being worked on. Is this enough? Maybe not, but only time will tell. It's still good to see that they're working into something though.

  5. This reply will be very similar to a recent reply of mine to a Contributor-only topic. Here's the other side of the story.

Basically, every time Chrome is updated, it becomes harder to browse on xat (or any other Flash-based website.) This will eventually get to the point that users will become tired and eventually leave the site for that reason - and that's if Flash hasn't been blocked by then. This is a really serious matter, and as of recently it's no longer a rumor, but a fact: HTML5 is the future of xat. Now that we have estabilished this, you all have to understand that the admins need to focus in the development of the HTML5 chat, if they want to continue it. They do not ignore you because they do not care about you, or because they only want to make profit (which they obviously do, but anyone who has had a minor interaction with them would know that they care a lot about this site), they simply do not have time.

Agreed! Suggestions made on forum should take about 2 weeks to a month to be considered by the volunteers and admins, and after that period, the suggesting user should get notified that if it's good enough to add, it will be added as soon as possible, or if it's bad, should be told it won't be added and provide a reason for not being accepted. Also, xat's main priority should be to finish developing Mobile and HTML5 in preparation of Flash not being supported anymore. I can understand that it wants every opportunity to make money, but yes, I also agree with the point that powers should not be released on a weekly basis at a cheap rate, and instead released monthly for a larger price.

Nathan, as a Contributor, I expected you to know that they do not have time to review and respond to every suggestion. You should also know that Volunteers do not decide whether  or not suggestions are able to be introduced into the site.

    # Weekly powers (80% of them are useless, not function etc).

I disagree. Smiley powers are the faces of xat. Do I like every power that xat has made? No. But at the end of the day, it keeps the site alive, and people like them.

    # No support, yet have lot of help chats the real support via ticket is zero.

This is not true. If you go to https://util.xat.com/wiki/index.php?title=Special:MyLanguage/Ticket_times you will find updated information regarding the status of the various ticket departments.

    # No marketing, xat is a big UK company, but don't care about ads in Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter or whatever, the users stay same, but lot of them will leave xat, and later will be too late.

Provided that we are talking about a Flash-based site, and we know that Flash is being discontinued, this does not appear to be the best moment to advertise. However, this should be revisited as soon as we have a stable version of the HTML5 chat, with all power-based functionalities introduced and working.

    # Nothing new, xat just changed design 2 times since it becames "chat" nothing new in design (website, a cool flat app etc) xat groups still lookin' like an 2000's website.

It's being worked on. See: https://forum.xat.com/topic/7834-html5-interface-update

    # (NEW) If you buy xats which were stolen its your fault and you will lose your money by a xat fault instead of get the real source of the issue.

I don't see how this is xat's fault. Actually, they've always stated that you do so at your own risk and discretion and that they do not support, nor endorse this type of transaction. You should also take into consideration that removed items are often refunded to the original owner, and that xat can't refund the scammed user if they don't remove the items from the user that has the stolen items, otherwise people would start faking scams. Ultimately, it's solely your fault if you choose to do a risky transaction for a chance of making profit.

  6. This is a joke! Nobody should feel umconfortable for being dunced. What's next? Options to invalidate the use of Badge, Yellowcard, Redcard, etc.?

If you don't feel comfortable in a chat, then let its owner know. If they don't attend your request, go chat elsewhere. It's as simple.

Finally, reporting to xat should not do anything, as this is somehow protected by the "your chat, your rules" logic.

  7. Message one of the Volunteers and provide them the following information:

    • Username and ID number of the account
    • Email address associated with the account
    • Reason for opening a ticket
    • Whether or not you have access to the email address associated with the account

They will open up a ticket for you as soon as they get to your message. Please be patient and they'll attend your request in a timely manner!

As soon as you have a ticket opened, you'll be emailed. Click the link in the email and answer the questions that you'll receive. Whenever you receive a response, click the link in the email that you'll receive. Do not reply to the email. You can keep track of the various statuses of ticket departments here.

Sometimes ad block doesn't block those kisses, in my opinion, it's a really good power and it's useful.

The solution I proposed works fine for me. Make sure that you have set it up correctly and your browser is up-to-date. I personally find it ridiculous for users to pay to do something that can be done with a few clicks and for free, and even more to force users into buying it in order to keep EveryPower.

I think it's about time we see new faces in the smiley maker section on xat. Though, I will point out one con for this: There would simply be too many people for one weekly power. Unless the time to make the power was increased and less powers were made, for example, a group of 5-10 smiley makes have a month to make a monthly combo of two powers, maybe then it would be acceptable to have more. Other than that, I don't think it's needed since xat reproduces powers way too much. Maybe if I find more inspiration then I will make a more in dept suggestion in relation to your topic. Completely bad idea? No, just that bit is flawed.

In addition to your reply, I'd like to add that it's rather ingenous to think that Smiley Makers have a period of time to create a new power that they must comply with. It does not work that way as far I know. Plus you should know that there is a number of finished powers that have not yet been released, so even if this was a requirement, they could simply send up one or another and have another week to work on something else.

  10. The Contributor topic referred to in HelperNate's reply is different from our regular discussions. That type of topic is usually only personal feedback, meaning that we do not usually post a conclusion. So I'd like to clarify that it's not delayed, nor neglected by Contributors. Why? Because our hands are tied. Contributors and Volunteers may post suggestions and feedback, but it's ultimately up to the administrators to decide what to do with the suggestions and feedback they receive.  Votes and conclusions are usually added to topics where we believe it's what the administrators are seeking for.

On topic, I do think that we could benefit from new Smiley Makers, but the quality of their work needs to be reviewed carefully, as well as their history with xat (which takes time.)

I feel like this type of feature wouldn’t work on something like xat. This is really aimed at people replying to specific messages likely at a later time than when it was sent so that other participants know what the reply is towards. xat doesn’t really work like this, it’s a real-time chatting experience and conversations are had in the moment, therefore I don’t think this feature would see much use.

I remember the old days at xat_test when there were so many people around and talking to each other in main chat simultaneously, so they'd @ each other so everybody would know who the message was directed to. The same thing always happened to me and my friends on WhatsApp groups and the "reply" option resolved this problem. You do have a point, though, and I would personally don't like the way he represented the idea - I'd personally want this to be implemented similarly to WhatsApp for Mobile and Web, rather than a "quote" icon next to each message (which causes visual polution to the chat interface, in my opinion).

  12. I personally don't think Social is being managed adequately. I don't think it should lose its official status, though. I'm all for transferring ownership to a new user and reviving it again. One would say its glory times are gone, its legacy has been destroyed or Chat covers its purpose (which I don't agree with — I believe an English lobby is necessary), but I'd still give it another chance because of users like you, who actually care about the chat and would like to see it back to life again.
