  2. Hello @Paulo! Thank you for providing this service for our community, and for your dedication in the continuous improvement of the service, and listening to the users' feedback. You should at least receive some compensation/recognizition from xat staff for all your effort.

Honestly, it's disappointing that in 2022 we still need to rely on third party services, it sounds even worse when the third party is a xat user.

I don't get why every other similar site that we use allows us to directly upload our pictures, but xat apparently can't do it.

I only hope they eventually look at this and make it easier for us, before it's so hard to use xat and its functionalities that everyone decides to quit.

hello, is it possible to add another "send" button to the gifs? the gif automatically sends when i click on it and I kinda dont want that because of accidental click

This makes a lot of sense! Important to note that other social media, such as WhatsApp have this functionality as well.

  4. i guess each main owner brings us something different. @Dimple brought her kindness, and we had such an amazing month. thank you so much!

i thought it was very important to note this, since we're typically inclined to be extreme, and sometimes the best way to deal with something is  by moving on from the past and giving the people the benefit of the doubt.

@Sergio omg, i'm so happy it's you! i've known you for ages, and you've done so much for this site through the years. i'm sure you'll do great.

  5. I agree. Some functionalities, such as edit messages, have been implemented into the chat. However, sometimes they're not really user-friendly, especially if you're at a busy chat (although these aren't very common nowadays). Keyboard shortcuts such as ↑ (up arrow) for editing your last message would definitely improve the user's experience.

I hope to see your suggestion being implemented in the upcoming updates of the chat.

  7. I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all. Maybe there could be a system rule where if you’ve sent a message containing buy or sell, for example, users will be able to PC you for a specific amount of time.

Another idea for an improvement is to allow users to request a private chat from those with NOPC enabled. You’d still not be able to PC the user who has NOPC power, but you could send a PC request. The user would receive a notification on the notification panel - similar to Tickle notifications, which may or may not want to review.

Unpopular opinion: 8-) The fact that you bought xats from the store once, does not give you the right to use the admin's time 50,000 times for free then. You don't buy a man's time for life, with $5  (or even more), you buy xats and subscriptions and some free services as a bonus (via ticket system) but it is normal for the rest of the services to be extra paid.

Imagine that a user comes and wants to swipe his shortname with all his friends, countless times a week, for fun. It can't be free just because he bought 500 xats from the store for $ 5 and became a paid user.
It seems to me that the tax is quite relevant. When you do an id transaction with a middleman, there is a fee, and no one complained about its existence, it seems to me that it is the same thing, only that the middleman is someone else. Whoever it is, time costs money, anywhere and anytime.

I'm glad that there is this option, through which users can safely exchange short-names that they no longer use(applause)

It's not like the admins are doing us any favors. Processing our requests is... their job.

Obviously, I understand that it'll take their time to have to manually process each request. However, they could instead spend some time once and create a trade system for short names.

Also, your example isn't really realistic, since (from my understanding) this change is meant for trading or giving away a short name; this is not intended for borrowing short names as it wouldn't be easy for xat to handle the disputes that could come with it.

The idea of safety is still questionable in my opinion, and honestly they should just create a trade system for this stuff, and so on with IDs etc.

In fact, 1,000 xats is a huge benefit for users if you compare to what was done before.

If you wanted a short name swap between users before, you needed someone to release the shortname by deleting the account, asking for it to be released on sale and repaying the entire name at xat cost (range from 1000 xats to 10,000+ in worst cases).

Now, you have a single process at a unique and small cost.

You aren't wrong, as I said before, fees are something very familiar on xat. However, there's a lot of room for improvements and honestly, we can't simply be happy with it just because "it's better than what it was before".

We can't forget that xat.com is a company and we're customers. We deserve good treatment, and they must work harder to make users happy, supply our needs, improve the chat, etc. so we'll want to stay and consequently spend more money into their site.

Seems like people have expressed their discontent with having to pay a fee to have a shortname transferred.

Just want to point out one thing. It's optional. By optional I mean you don't have to use it, you'd be affected if you own multiple shortnames and want to interchange between them, ok fine, thats the price you pay to change names. But remember that it's not a must; you can avoid the fee by not swapping shortnames. The intention is to provide users with a seemless/premium service to make selling/buying and/or trading shortnames easier.

If I'm paying for a premium service, then I'll want premium treatment. The original post states that your ticket will be seen after a minimum period of 5 days, yet it doesn't mention a maximum wait time.

Historically, we've had situations where xAdmin tickets would take months. This has also happened recently to a user.

I find that Admin suddenly needing 1000 xats for their time to be very disappointing, especially when the Tickle quiz states that xat Staff or Volunteers will never ask for xats which should be interpreted as under any circumstances (including this if you ask me). I don't understand why they would need 1000 xats to cover their time?

Don't get me wrong, I like the concept. I'm just not sold on the idea of why Admin suddenly needs a cut of 1000 xats to make this happen even if it uses their time. They should be nurturing this website, not placing further paywalls on things. You're already required to be a Paid User just to open the Ticket (1 paywall already) and then you also need to pay a fee (2nd paywall) to have the process done.

Regarding the fee, historically it has always been like this. However, I agree with you, and I think that the fact people are using xat.com and spending their money into the site should be enough to "cover admin's time".
