  1. Lettuce because you can make any variety of salad with it. Smash Bros or Mario Kart?
  2. I went to the supermarket yesterday to buy some, and the only ones they had left were the expensive lavender-scented ones on the top shelf. They're very luxurious and not the ones I'd usually buy - but I had no other option. I have to say, they're quite the treat, and I might continue with them in the future.
  3. Thanks Maxo, and I hope it was fun to read!
  4. I remember it as a one-off event, but if xat is going to make mystery boxes a permanent addition, they need a long-term vision about how to maximise their sales. I'm questioning whether placing mystery boxes behind a power is better than just making mystery boxes available to purchase directly, but economics isn't my strong suit. You could have the right idea after all. Yes, Mystery could become a useful power for bidding at ID auctions too, if its trade price drops to 50-55% of the store price (or less). I can easily see that happening.
  5. Your concept art is fantastic and you've provided lots of details - so thank you! The traditional approach (which DJFUNNY mentioned) would be to purchase the mystery box outright for a set price and theme from the store page - not needing to buy a power first and then having the option to purchase the mystery box afterwards for a price and theme that you don't even know until you've already bought the power. You've justified it well, because Mystery could be the best-selling store power of recent times. Users will be purchasing the power again and again directly from the xat store. This benefits xat hugely. However, the complication of having an extra step that potentially confuses people, and knowing you'll be stuck with an unlimited power afterwards that you don't need or want - and not even knowing the price and theme of the mystery box until you've already committed yourself to buying the power - could potentially deter a lot of customers from mystery box sales. It overcomplicates a simple transaction. There's also ethical questions and stigmas about loot box mechanics and gambling in general, especially on a website with younger users (14+). Users can easily become addicted to the lottery and start spending irresponsible amounts of money and put themselves in a bad situation to get that one power they want (e.g. the chance to win Gold). But I suppose it's also comparable to buying a Yu-Gi-Oh! booster pack from your local store, which is morally accepted in everyday life - you can either pull a worthless Flower Wolf or an ultra rare Blue-Eyes White Dragon - you purchase the items at your own risk and it's the luck of the draw what you receive. It's an interesting discussion to have.
  6. We'd need more fire powers, but there are some good ideas on the forums. For example, fire dragon, fire, phoenix, fireworks kick, fireworks country.
  7. Discord is also a rival to xat, so I don't think it's a good idea to promote users signing up for it. It potentially takes users away from xat in the long term.

  15. I'm looking forward to the publication and reading what I said.
  16. Truly awesome designs @zeondesign but there are squares on the inner background's smiley line : I don't want squares or silhouettes on the smiley line, but everything else is great!
  17. Ideally, the spelling would need to be changed from oficial to official @REDDS And also change language to languages Thank you for your entry!
  18. This one has nice appeal for a background. I like the sunset colours and it's not too plain. I don't particularly like the font though. Anyway, I don't want to be critiquing designs while the contest is open. Part of the fun is being surprised and letting the entrants decide for themselves!
  19. As specified in the requirements, I'm looking for backgrounds without silhouettes or squares on the smiley line. @theFlower The reason is because the Flash icons don't match up with the HTML5 ones, so the backgrounds are going to look bad for some users. And I'm worried about the HTML5 chats adding or changing icon positions in the future as we approach the final months of Flash. But thank you for all the entries and your time!
  20. I'm looking for a banner as part of the entry too @Born I won't be critiquing all the entries, but your backgrounds are too harsh on the eyes, and I don't like the Facebook logo either, as it's very likely copyrighted / trademarked. Thank you for your time though.
  21. Hello! I'm hosting a contest here on the forums for new backgrounds and a matching advertising banner on Feedback chat. The details of the contest are below. Please let me know if you have any questions! Requirements: Produce an inner and outer background with a matching banner and button color. That's three graphics and a hex code to enter. The backgrounds should be professional and suitable for HTML5. The banner should meet the advertising rules. The dimensions should be as below: 2560 x 1440 pixels or larger - outer background. 728 x 486 pixels - inner background. 728 x 90 pixels - banner. Any color scheme or theme is allowed, but the colors shouldn't be too bright or dark (hurtful to eyes). No silhouettes or squares on the inner background's smiley line. CSS can be used for minor modifications, if you provide the code too. You may post as many entries as you like. Optional details to bear in mind: Feedback is the official chat for users to provide their constructive feedback about xat. The chat is international (all languages allowed). Prizes, prize holder and judges: 1st place - 5000 xats 2nd place - 4000 xats 3rd place - 3000 xats 4th place - 2000 xats 5th place - 1000 xats Prize holder: Four (4444) Judge: Four (4444) Deadline to enter: 26 March 2020 at 9AM BST
  22. This type of post, with the one-word responses you're wanting, is better suited to a status update post rather than a topic in General Discussion, as it won't generate much discussion. This topic is therefore closed.
  23. I'll need to lock this topic because it involves collecting ISP data, which is important on xat for helping to verify users. We don't want malicious users obtaining this information.

    vote system

Do you mean allowing users to vote for new volunteers and staff on chats? It's important to consider the opinions of users, of course. However, we have to remember that xat is a company too. And like all companies, it would be reckless to thrust unproven, unqualified and untrusted users into positions of high responsibility without careful due diligence first. Such decisions are unsuitable for public polls IMO.
