  1. I used to watch lots of TV shows with my dad (e.g. The Simpsons, Spongebob, Drake and Josh) but he never liked The Cramp Twins for some reason. He always said it was rubbish.

    (yellow) power

Perhaps xat could release a new pawn like Yellow to be exclusive to HTML5 (similar to how Category power is exclusive to HTML5). It would help encourage more users to switch over by choice (rather than being forced to at the last minute) and would help ease the transition process between Flash and HTML5. This idea was suggested by ELDONABEEE (1519385625) via Feedback chat. The pawn doesn't have to be free, of course, and could still be unlocked through collecting Allpowers or AllLimiteds etc. Also, add a wasp smiley to balance the cuteness of the chick and the flower.

  4. It's not that simple, and it's not completely black and white. There's still activity there at peak hours, usually from myself, Elea, DJCrazy, Valstein and Xhoni (give or take a person). Mia and Amyy will usually pop in and out too, and then there's Arthur and Blacky. I'm there almost every day, and it's not neglected. But yes, it's not as busy as other traditional official chats such as Help, Chat, Assistance, etc.
  5. You'll appreciate that I can't petition for an idea that's already been suggested or that'll get ripped to shreds on here. We do listen to users and talk through their suggestions with them, and we'll explain if we're unable to take the idea further - although I do try to improve suggestions and make them workable where possible. If there's nobody on the chat, the user can wait for a staff member to come online (Elea or I if nobody else), post on our blog, post in the main chat, or even PM me on mobile if they truly wish (I will be available during breaks at work). I'm looking to address the staff issue, and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. If users wish to post on the forums, I'd encourage it. But Feedback is useful for users who aren't willing to post on the forums, for whatever reason. I myself didn't have a forum account until 2014, because I was intimidated by more experienced users like yourself who would scrutinise and interrogate everything I posted. That's for Contributors to vote on if they want to open a discussion about it. I would respect whatever decision they reach.
  6. Feedback is still serving its own unique purpose on xat, just like Help, Trade, Game, Contests and Loja. We are the dedicated chat for users to provide their ideas and suggestions for xat. The chat is open to all users in every language, and we ensure that all opinions are accounted for, at all levels on xat, whenever we are needed. Our chat provides a platform for users, and we ensure that all voices are heard - no registration required! The chat won't be retiring or closing, even if the Contributors vote to remove its official status in the future. The chat was originally proposed as tribute before admins granted it official status, which we went with (as anyone would). I'll continue with the project, amongst my other responsibilities (unless I'm forced out by Contributors), and I'll try my best to keep the chat functioning. We've only had a few suggestions so far, which include creating a rule on the forums to stop people bumping old topics with "@admin ??", the creation of an independent emerald pawn (not attached to Everypower), a gorilla smiley power (which I had already suggested myself in the past and has now been implemented) and an update to HTML5 chats regarding the powers display - but these ideas were not shared due to irredeemable flaws I found with the ideas. We have a very good foundation for users to suggest ideas, better than any chat in existence, but it may indeed be the case that users simply aren't interested or they have no ideas to share that haven't already been proposed before. As I sometimes say, we can lead the horse to the water, but we can't force it to drink. Active staff is a problem, of course, and I've been thinking hard about ways to create incentives for users (which may include paying my staff as a last resort). It's definitely a problem when I can't motivate enough people to sit online, and I've been working to address this and find solutions. The staff that actually are active are brilliant though, and I can't thank them enough for their time. I should also mention (as a minor point) that my translator app on the chat hasn't been working for some time on both Flash and HTML5 ("Please login"), and I was unable to clear my cookies/cache for personal reasons, which meant I couldn't promote the chat internationally. That was frustrating!
  7. Welcome to the forums! We're glad you joined us, and we look forward to seeing you around. In the past, we decided that introduction topics are better suited to status updates (these can be posted via the front page), so we'll close this topic for now. Please send me a private message if you need help with anything at all in the future!

    SUPERAWAY POWER!

You could write in your status why you're away and then change it back after, but this idea sounds useful too (useful for people wanting to know how long you're going to be away approximately).

    Unban Reason

I agree with Daniel. It could save time explaining things for other staff members reading chat events.
  13. Agreed. I'm in favour of removing the filter for subscribers and potentially adding a new gcontrol setting for chat owners. I think the positives outweigh the negatives. In fact, I prefer this idea to Cupim's. Users are less likely to misbehave when they have something to lose (i.e. their items). It creates a small incentive to buy days, for those who know about it. And it wouldn't create additional risk for chats where users are given member upon arrival (some unofficial chats are run this way) - which Cupim's idea might. I also agree with changing the limit text, which Cupim suggested, because "Limit 9s" doesn't mean anything unless you read the wiki or ask other people - and you probably wouldn't even know your messages were being blocked. Apologies if I missed anything.
  14. From a moderator perspective, we may need an efficient way to contact users when we're removing their content, otherwise they might start posting "Who removed my message?", "Why was my message removed?" On the forums, we can usually send the user a private message and it'll appear on their screen straight away. But I don't believe there's a simple equivalent on the chats other than PCing them - the record/thread of which disappears as soon as you refresh the chat and then you forget what happened. We may need a new set of rules creating for this, which may need translating into several different languages. Also, it could get messy if there's nobody immediately available to answer the reports, because it would reflect badly on the website as a whole. But I suppose it's up to admins to cover that.
  15. These are the football logo ones I could find: If they're copyrighted, maybe we could create our own teams/clans.

    help me please

If you've moved countries permanently, you may wish to open a ticket (xat.com/ticket) in the Location Update department and request for your home location to be updated. Otherwise, the hold will probably keep repeating.

  21. I know this is just an example but new users shouldn't have too many problems answering the security questions if they've only just done the things volunteers are asking about. But I can appreciate creating a ticket and waiting for replies is a pain. If there is an option to change emails, perhaps only gmail addresses would be allowed and the user would be held for 28 days after doing it (as it is currently).

    Can be bug?

Apparently, Stif's solution does not work, but if anyone else has the same problem, please try that in the first instance. I'll mark this topic as closed because xLaming states Admins are aware of this bug and it will be fixed. If anyone has an additional solution, please PM me and I'll reopen the topic if necessary to see if that works.
  23. I wrote a college essay on Frankie & Benny's back in the day. Apparently the first restaurant opened in Leicester and the backstory they provide about Frankie and Benny is all hogwash! They made it up!

    ForestBand

There's some nice variety here. Perhaps we can have smiley backs for all of the animals (not just one). Add a squirrel and deer one too. And a hug set in a forest with the animals in the background that could promote the preservation of wildlife.
