  5. Chain Reaction event will start at the top of the hour @ xat.com/Game !

  6. Final call! 50 minutes until Chain Reaction event starts. During the event, I may not be able to answer questions outside of the guessing game elements, but after the 5th, 10th, and 15th puzzles, there will be a 10-minute recharge break, and then afterwards, I will allow 3 minutes for questions.
  7. With the main event starting in 32 hours ( https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20220521T12&p0=224&msg=Chain+Reaction+contest!&font=cursive&csz=1 ), there is some additional information that I discovered during test runs: The prize per word will be the same as I state; it will not change depending on if the word was guessed correctly with only 1 letter, or all except 1 letter remaining. It is a matter of WHO GUESSES CORRECTLY FIRST! This happened on 1 test puzzle, but if there is a word that is shown to have 1 letter remaining, and it is not guessed correctly 3 times in general, then the correct answer will be revealed, and the prize for that word will not be rewarded. Example: Say if the correct answer was "pepper" and in the chain it was revealed as "peppe(?)" the word can only be attempted up to 3 times before the prize for that word is cancelled. Players can enter/leave mid-puzzle, but it is preferred if they do so between puzzles. If someone enters during a puzzle, they will go last in the rotation. Example: Say it's Daniel's turn and the player rotation is: "Daniel โ†’ Max โ†’ Jimmy" and Jesse indicates they want to participate in the game. In this case, the player rotation would then be "Jesse โ†’ Daniel โ†’ Max โ†’ Jimmy." After Daniel's turn, Max and Jimmy will play, and then it will be Jesse's turn. SPELLING COUNTS! If the correct answer is "place" and you guess "placed" that will be considered wrong. If the correct answer is "forward" and you guess "foward" that will be considered wrong. The event will take place @ xat.com/Game chat! Hope to see you there!
  8. Hi fellow xatters! I am back with another contest! This contest is called Chain Reaction based off of the original game show called "Chain Reaction." Prize information will be provided at the bottom of this post. Location: xat.com/Game Date & Time: Saturday May 21st @ 12PM PDT / 3PM EDT / 7PM GMT Objective: One by one, participants will have to guess the missing word that is adjacent to the word next to it to form a pair of words. Sample Chain: Liberty, Bell, Pepper, Corn, Bread, Winner. The chain is read in format "word1 word2, word2 word3, word3 word4, etc." So in this sample chain, it would be read as "Liberty Bell, Bell Pepper, Pepper Corn, Corn Bread, Bread Winner" Solving the Chain: For each chain, the first and last words will be revealed with a number of blank slots where the missing words will go. When it is someone's turn, they will choose where they want to guess goes with the word next to it. Sample Chain as new round: Liberty, ____, ____, ____, ____, Winner. First, player 1 would first say either "after liberty" or "before winner" to indicate where they want to guess the adjacent word. Let's assume they chose to guess the word after "Liberty." Chain: Liberty, B____, ____, ____, ____, Winner. The first letter will be revealed hinting to what the missing word is. Now player 1 will have to guess what the word is with their only clues being that it starts with the letter "B" and goes after the word "Liberty." If the word is guessed correctly, it will be revealed in the chain and the player who guessed the correct word will win some xats. Prizes will be awarded on a win1 skip1 basis, so if player 1 guessed the correct word which was "bell" they would win some xats, and the host will circle around the roster skipping player 1 once. What happens if participants guess incorrectly? There is no penalty for guessing incorrectly, although it may give an advantage to nearby players! Assuming player 1 does not guess "bell" the host will move onto player 2, and the chain will still be revealed as: Liberty, B____, ____, ____, ____, Winner. Next player: Now it is player 2's turn, and first they must indicate where they want to guess the missing word, either "after liberty" or "before winner." If they choose to guess before "Winner" the first letter will be revealed and they must guess the word that goes with it. If they choose to guess after "Liberty" the next letter of the word will be revealed. Chain (if they chose to guess before "Winner"): Liberty, B____, ____, ____, B____, Winner. Chain (if they chose to guess after "Liberty"): Liberty, Be____, ____, ____, ____, Winner. If player 2 guesses the word correctly, the word will be revealed in the chain, and they will win some xats and have to skip 1 turn. If they guess incorrectly, it may give an advantage to nearby players. After each guess, the host will move onto player 3, and after they guess, the host moves onto player 4, and so on. What happens if there are too many wrong guesses? The actual length of the words will not be revealed, but if nobody guesses the same one word correctly enough times, there will be an indication that there is 1 letter remaining with symbol: (?) Example: Liberty, Bell, Peppe(?), Co____, Bread, Winner. In the sample chain above, there were too many incorrect guesses on the word after "Bell" and 2 wrong guesses on the word before "Bread." As a result, the symbol (?) indicates that there is 1 letter remaining in the missing word after "Bell." From there, the last letter will not be revealed if there are further incorrect guesses. Completing the chain: After a chain has been completed, it will be read out in main chat, and the next chain will be provided. Chains will start small with small prizes per correct guess and will gradually get harder with more words, but the prize will also gradually increase with each correct guess! And there will also be a bonus round of a 9-word chain worth big prizes! Whoever guessed the final word on a previous chain correctly, the player directly after them will have the first guess on the new chain with the previous player skipping 1 turn. ------------------------------------------------ Prize Information: Chains 1-5 (5-word chains): 100 xats per correct word (100 xats * 15 words = 1500 xats) Chains 6-10 (6-word chains): 300 xats per correct word (300 xats * 20 words = 6000 xats) Chains 11-15 (7-word chains): 500 xats per correct word (500 xats * 25 words = 12,500 xats) Bonus Chain (9-word chain): 750 xats per correct word (750 xats * 7 words = 5250 xats) Total prize budget: 25,250 xats Chat promo: 200 xats Grand total budget for event: 25,450 xats I may be open to test runs before the event, so if I am online in Game chat room, I may be able to test run some games depending on my priorities and responsibilities. Test runs of contests also benefit me as a host as it is good practice for everyone involved before the main event, including the host.
  9. There were originally supposed to be 3 games that took place today, but I did not anticipate this 1 game would last so long. Likely because there were more players than I was used to, and a majority of them were newbies, but anyway, here are the results from that game: Secret code: 3 1 9 7 5 3 News room: 2 2 4 4 6 6 Game show room: 3 1 9 7 5 3 Cartoon room: 4 2 0 8 6 4 Writers' room: 3 1 9 1 3 5 Staff lounge: 4 2 4 2 6 8 Equipment room: 1 5 3 3 9 7 Sound room: 7 5 3 3 6 6 Recording Booth A: 5 6 7 2 3 4 Recording Booth B: 8 0 2 4 6 8 Recording Booth C: 0 1 0 1 5 7 Hideout rooms: Master of Mischief: Recording Booth B - found by Lemona who won 5000 xats Turbo: Cartoon room - found by JayLovesMel who won 3000 xats Pogo: Equipment room - found by Loba who won 2000 xats Buffo: Game show room - found by DangKaniel who won 1000 xats Other participants: Cryy - 100 xats for participation Match rules: Master of Mischief: The hideout room will have differently matched numbers and the SAME BACKWARDS PATTERN as the secret code. (319753 โ†’ 802468) Turbo: The hideout room will have differently matched numbers, but the same pattern as the secret code. (319753 โ†’ 420864) Pogo: The hideout room will have the same numbers, but a different pattern as the secret code. (319753 โ†’ 153397) Buffo: The hideout room will have the same numbers and the same pattern as the secret code. (319753 โ†’ 319753) The second game will take place at a later date and time to be announced, and the third game, at another later date and time. Also, a few things will be updated for next time: 1. Instead of room elimination taking place every 3 turns, it will take place every 2 turns, and stop completely when there are a total of 5 rooms left instead of 6. (rooms are also eliminated when a player decides) 2. Instead of Telly spawning every 2 turns, he will spawn every turn. The most common issue that players were upset about is ability to use !decide. This can only be used at minimum when players have at least the following: 4 pieces of secret code + 1 uncovered room code All room codes uncovered + 1 piece of secret code This rule was put in place to prevent players from guessing too early by chance and potentially losing. If someone uncovers all room codes, but not enough pieces of the secret code to decide confidently, they can choose to pass, and 1 piece of secret code will be given per turn. The catch: they can't catch Telly with all rooms uncovered. Thank you for playing/watching and hope to see y'all next time!
  10. Less than 24 hours before Outnumbered starts! Hope y'all are ready to solve some mysteries! https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20220116T20&p0=224&msg=Outnumbered+Version+2!&font=cursive&csz=1 If nobody shows up within 30 minutes of start time, this event will be cancelled.
  11. Happy (belated) birthday!

  12. Hello! Do you remember a while back when I hosted Outnumbered before? Game instructions: https://pastebin.com/xMKJcdmy Date and time: January 16th @ 8PM PST / 11PM EST / 4AM GMT (next day) Location: xat.com/Game Now, I am bringing it back with some new updates and features! What's new/improved/different: The minigames in the rooms have been changed from gamebans to math, scramble, lingo, or just plain luck! Also, such minigames are free-for-all minigames when all players choose a room to explore! Every 3 turns, there is now "Room Elimination" where a 'wrong room' will be eliminated at random. Room Elimination will keep going until there are a total of 6 rooms left in the game. After the first room has been eliminated, no additional players can join. Sudden Death round will be removed completely! After further testing, it is determined that Sudden Death takes up unnecessarily more time. Instead: Players will decide rooms when they are ready! There is now a FOURTH hideout room where the pattern is based on the game's advanced levels! You can now use command !matchrule to explain how to find which particular villain, although it is recommended to keep the instructions open on another tab for reference. Prizes for finding an antagonist: Master of Mischief: 5000 xats Robot 1: 3000 xats Robot 2: 2000 xats Robot 3: 1000 xats There will be a total of 3 games, and the robot names will change every game. Minimum estimated time per game: 70 minutes Overall budget: 11000 xats per game * 3 games = 33000 xats + 200 xats chat promo = Total: 33200 xats If you would like to test run this game beforehand, I am open to test runs @ xat.com/Game where you may test the game before participating in the actual contest. Day + time + location are listed at the top of the post. Happy solving!

  15. The final event has ended! Unfortunately only 2 participants joined in the final game "to the death" version and the game lasted for a short time, but that's fine, as this game requires a MINIMUM of 2 participants. Final results for Session 2 (both on last week's and today's date): xRavennn - 7250 xats NenoMihajlovic - 4250 xats iiCrazyBoyii - 4000 xats xMarco - 3000 xats Chat promo - 350 xats Total xats spent: 18850 xats Session 1 xats spent: 20650 xats Session 2 xats spent: 18850 xats Overall total xats spent: 39500 xats This event is over! Thanks for those who came out and participated, and see you later! Stay safe!
  16. Crazy 8s contest Session 2 resumed @ Game chat starting at the top of the hour! Up to 10 players can win xats given they do not leave midgame!

  17. Session 2 continued event will start in 9 hours @ Game chat! There will be a hands on tutorial mode during the game, and everyone (up to 10 players) will have a chance to win some xats given that they don't leave mid game. Hope to see you there!
  18. The second session is 3/4 complete! 3 out of 4 games were complete, but because I used up my energy to host this event, I was not able to host to completion. Next week same day and same time as when Session 2 started will be the final game of "to the death" where all players except 1 will clear their cards, and will have a chance to win some xats. Time is listed above on the initial post. Final results will also be announced here after the final game is complete. Thanks for playing and hope to see you at the final game! For those that are new and show up to only the continued portion of Session 2, I will do a hands-on tutorial mode like Game 1 of both sessions, and as always I will be open to test runs if I am able whenever I am online in the chat.
  19. Crazy 8s contest @ Game starting at the top of the hour!

  20. The second session will start in 20 hours! Hope to see you there!
  21. The first event has finished! Here are the final results by regname: lllVilenlll - 6200 xats iiCrazyBoyii - 5500 xats xRavennn - 2250 xats Cooolingman - 2000 xats Karen - 2000 xats NenoMihajlovic - 1500 xats iNeverforgive - 1000 xats Chat promo - 200 xats Total xats spent: 20650 xats It also occurred to me that during the final game, some cycles may be "broken" "repeating" and "never ending." For this reason, on the final game where the game lasts down to 1 player, I will occasionally give hints on how to make a complete cycle. This will eliminate the cards in play from the game, and with less cards, the game will end quicker. It also helps to use the spreadsheet linked by the bot, which players can use kind of as a cheat sheet. It will show by color the cards that are available in the game, and cards that are eliminated as the result of a complete cycle, as cards are only seen once per game. This is especially useful in the final game, particularly towards the end. Hope to see you at next week's event, and I will be open to test runs when I am online in the chat and ready. Take care!
  22. The first session will start in 13 hours! Hope to see you there!
  23. Update: I added a visual aid for those who are interested in seeing the game in which I got the idea to host this from. It's listed next to the full rules and information pastebin as "Visual Aid." I'll also be happy to answer questions here on this post!
  24. Hi all! I am going to be hosting Crazy 8s card game @ Game chat! This game is similar to Uno, but instead of colors, are the 4 suits Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and also 3 Joker type cards: Black Joker, Red Joker, and Joker. Times: Session 1: Sunday August 15th @ 6PM PDT / 9PM EDT / 1AM GMT (next day) Session 2: Saturday August 21st @ 12AM PDT / 3AM EDT / 7AM GMT Session 2 continued - final game: Saturday August 28th @ 12AM PDT / 3AM EDT / 7AM GMT Objective: Clear your cards by throwing down a card from your hand that matches the suit of the starting card. Throw down the highest value among the other players to become the leading player and choose which card the other players have to match suit with. As you are throwing down your second to last card, be sure to call out in main chat an indication that you have 1 card remaining, just like calling out "Uno" when you have 1 card remaining in your hand. Clear all cards from your hand to win the game. Full rules and information: https://pastebin.com/FVsmRRbJ + Visual Aid There will be a total of 4 games, each one longer than the last, and the last game being taken all the way to the end until there is only 1 player left! Prizes will be distributed as follows: Game 1 (15 cycles): 1st place: 1500 xats 2nd place: 1000 xats 3rd place: 500 xats Game 2 (20 cycles): 1st place: 2250 xats 2nd place: 1500 xats 3rd place: 750 xats Game 3 (25 cycles): 1st place: 3000 xats 2nd place: 2000 xats 3rd place: 1000 xats Game 4 (to the death): 1st place: 3000 xats 2nd place: 2000 xats 3rd place: 1500 xats 4th place: 1000 xats 5th place: 750 xats 6th and 7th place: 500 xats 8th and 9th place: 300 xats 10th place: 200 xats Budget: 23550 xats Chat promo: 200 xats Total budget: 23750 xats For hosting twice: 23750 * 2 = 47500 xats (assuming the maximum number of participants join for both sessions) Unfortunately this event can only fit a maximum of 11 participants, and since win1 skip1 cannot be properly enforced, whoever wins 1st place in the previous game gets their first 3 turns skipped, 2nd place gets first 2 turns skipped, and 3rd place gets only their first turn skipped. Players cannot be changed during the game, so it is important to respond when it is your turn. If there are too many participants who want to join, a roulette will decide who gets to play. Test runs of the game are available whenever I am online in the chat in case anyone wants to play a game or two before the main event so they can get a general idea of how it works. Because I enjoy hosting this event so much, I have decided to host it twice at 2 different days and times to try to accommodate for most timezones. Days and times are listed above. I am a night owl, and I am usually online late at night to mid morning around 12AM - 6AM. My timezone is PDT. Hope to see you there!
  25. I see that this has been added. Thank you!
