  • PCBack on background/friendslist not opening

    Phin
    • Status: Fixed Priority: Normal

This is going to be more of a two in one report as both involve the friendslist.

One takes you to xat3 when you try to open friendslist after closing a chat, the other displays your PCBack when you try to open friendslist on a chat with no BG.

Steps to reproduce bug: For the PCBack:

    1. Go to a chat where the BG doesn’t show, such as FEXBots.

    2. Try to open your friendslist. Sometimes your friendslist will open, (if it does, click someone on your FL then go back to the chat) sometimes it’ll display your PCBack as the background.

    Closing a chat:

    1. Go to any random chat and close out of it completely where it says “connected to xat”

    2. Try to open friendslist. Again, sometimes it may open, sometimes it’ll redirect you to xat3.

Thanks for reporting. I took a look at the mentioned issues and this is the outcome:

    1. I think the first issue is related to slow loading of un-cached images, thus if you go to someone's private chat whose pcback wasn't loaded/cached yet, it won't show it immediately, and so when you go back to the chat it'll load the pcback-image as chat background, due to the delay. You can also spot the same issue in the HTML5 chat. Having said that, if this gets fixed on HTML5, and if the fix gets applied to Mobile, this issue should be resolved.

    2. I can't reproduce it, you may wanna re-check it when a new version is available for you (the public). My version is 1.12.0.
