  • Device Authorization Appears To Fail

    adam_
    • Status: Closed Priority: Trivial

When logging into a xat account from an unrecognized device, xat requires further validation by displaying the message below and e-mailing an authentication link:

However, when you follow the link in the e-mail sent, you are always given an authorization failed error like this one:

    H1_1TeJHQB_HTJ8X5b3DcQ.png

This means that even if the tk parameter in the URL is correct, you will always be told that there was an authorization failure. This can be very misleading.

That's because you're clicking the wrong authorization link in your email.

I've encountered this issue a multiple times during testing, and you can easily get around it. Click the first authorization link in the first email that you're asked to verify your device, or the second link.

It should be the first link most of the time when you're prompt to verify your idevice.

Nothing really needs fixing on this area since it's tested numerous times along with the results being different and the same in multiple ways.

If I am wrong, then send me a private message and I'll go over the values to what went wrong.

Priority level was set to Trivial
